What did we do?

  • Our efforts took us to two communities in Ahuachapán: Chucutitan and Apaneca.

  • Elementary schools: To teach English, Karate, and dance to over 80 students in 3rd and 4th grade.

  • After two weeks, the children showcased their new skills in a final presentation for their parents.

  • We also engaged with over 20 high school sophomores, introducing Japanese culture. We taught them to prepare ramen, explore Japanese calligraphy, and write their names in Japanese.

  • On weekends and Fridays, we partnered with Hope House in El Zonte. We taught local children English, dance, and karate, while they taught us surfing. This exchange was enriching and fun, allowing us to bond in the beautiful beach environment.
